More Than a Private Chef: Why the Table Matters

When most people think about hiring a private chef, they picture an incredible meal. And while the food is undoubtedly the centerpiece, we believe the experience begins long before the first course is served.

At Coastal & Countryside, we've always believed that hospitality lives in the details.

It's the soft glow of candlelight as guests gather around the table. It's the anticipation created by a beautifully printed menu waiting at each place setting. It's the feeling of sitting down to a thoughtfully designed table where every plate, glass, linen, and floral arrangement has been intentionally chosen to complement the meal ahead.

That's why we've introduced our Signature Dining Experience.

Inspired by New England Hospitality

Growing up and working in hospitality taught us that the most memorable gatherings aren't always the largest or the most extravagant. They're the evenings where guests feel welcomed, comfortable, and completely present.

New England has always inspired our style. Coastal blues, crisp whites, natural linens, warm candlelight, seasonal florals, and subtle nods to the changing seasons create a setting that feels timeless rather than trendy.

Whether we're serving dinner in a Cape Cod vacation home, a lakeside cottage in Maine, or a family home in New Hampshire, our goal remains the same—to create a table that feels as though it belongs there.

Why We Created This Experience

Many of our dinners take place in beautiful vacation homes and Airbnb properties. While these homes offer incredible locations, they aren't always stocked with matching dinnerware, quality glassware, or enough place settings to create the elevated dining experience our clients envision.

Instead of asking our clients to source these details themselves, we decided to do it for them.

Our Signature Dining Experience was designed to remove one more layer of planning, allowing our clients to simply enjoy their evening with family and friends.

Every Detail Matters

Our curated collection includes thoughtfully selected dinnerware, glassware, flatware, luxury linens, candlelight, seasonal décor, printed menus, and floral styling for gatherings of up to 25 guests.

Each table is designed around the menu, the season, and the setting.

A late summer dinner may feature blue hydrangeas, white florals, natural woven textures, and the first hints of autumn. A fall gathering might incorporate candlelight, heirloom pumpkins, rich linens, and seasonal greenery. Every design is intentionally understated so that the food remains the focal point while the atmosphere enhances the experience.

A Meal Worth Gathering Around

Chef AJ Lucas has spent decades creating memorable meals rooted in hospitality. His menus celebrate New England's finest ingredients while drawing inspiration from classic techniques and global flavors.

We believe the table should reflect that same level of care.

Because exceptional food deserves an equally thoughtful presentation.

More Than Dinner

When you book Coastal & Countryside, you're inviting more than a chef into your home. You're creating an evening where every detail has been considered—from the first impression to the final course.

It's an anniversary where no one has to cook.

A family vacation where everyone can truly relax.

A rehearsal dinner that feels intimate and personal.

A birthday that guests will remember long after dessert has been served.

Our role is simple: to create an atmosphere where meaningful conversations happen naturally, laughter lingers around the table, and every guest feels genuinely cared for.

That's the heart of hospitality.

That's the Coastal & Countryside experience.
